NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Link to Fitch Ratings' Report: 2016 Outlook: Latin America Power Sector
(Stability in the Face of El Niño)
Fitch Ratings has published a new report on the 2016 Outlook for the Latin American Power sector.
Fitch sees the credit fundamentals for the Latin American power sector as stable for the short to medium term, with 82% of rated entities on a Stable Rating Outlook, slightly lower than 85% at year-end 2014. Rating actions in the next 12 - 24 months will result mainly from credit factors specific to each company or country rather than regional trends. Brazil accounts for the most negative rating outlooks or watches in the region, at three of six, as a result of unfavorable regulatory changes in recent years and adverse hydrological conditions.
