CHICAGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Huron Consulting Group (NASDAQ: HURN), a leading provider of business consulting services, today announced that it received a perfect score on the 2016 Corporate Equality Index (CEI) for the third consecutive year. CEI is a national benchmarking survey on corporate policies and practices related to LGBT workplace equality, administered by the Human Rights Campaign Foundation.
“We are pleased to be among the companies recognized by the Human Rights Campaign Foundation as a Best Place to Work for LGBT Equality,” said James H. Roth, chief executive officer and president, Huron Consulting Group. “Diversity is at the heart of everything we do and adhering to an inclusive culture at Huron is one of the key attributes that has made Huron so successful.”
Huron supports employees through programs such as:
- Inclusive Company policies and benefits packages
- An LGBTA employee resource group, known as the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Allies (LGBTA) Team
- Philanthropic support including volunteering at SAGE (Services & Advocacy for GLBT Elders), a pro bono project with TPAN (Test Positive Aware Network), and participating in the AIDS Run & Walk fundraisers in several cities
- Diversity Leadership Program
The 2016 CEI rated 1,024 businesses in the report, which evaluates LGBT-related policies and practices including non-discrimination workplace protections, domestic partner benefits, transgender-inclusive health care benefits, competency programs, and public engagement with the LGBT community. Huron’s efforts in satisfying all of the CEI’s criteria results in a 100 percent ranking and the designation as a Best Place to Work for LGBT Equality.
