CHICAGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--SmithBucklin, the association management and services company more organizations turn to than any other, is delighted to announce that Linda Trummel, Manager, Event Services, was named “Show Manager of the Year” by The Expo Group in the category of tradeshows with 150 booths or less. The award was presented Nov. 7 during the 2015 Trade Show News Network Awards in Atlanta, Ga.
The honor recognized Trummel’s work for the National Association of Orthopaedic Nurses (NAON) and its Annual Congress, which provides outstanding educational and networking opportunities for orthopaedic nurses from around the world. For NAON’s 2015 event, Trummel spearheaded The Joint Connection, the renamed and redesigned exhibition and meeting place within the conference.
“I feel honored and humbled to have received this award,” Trummel said. “And I’m grateful for my supportive team, who always strives to create shows that deliver value for exhibitors and attendees.”
“Linda provides creative design and personal dedication to her client shows,” said Dave Weil, Vice President, Event Services. “Her success in developing new ideas and implementing them on the show floor is indeed something to be recognized.”
Trummel also contributes to the tradeshow and convention teams for the North American Association of Food Equipment Manufacturers’ The NAFEM Show, the National Demolition Association’s Annual Convention & Expo, the International Society of Transport Aircraft Trading’s Annual European Conference and the Oracle HCM Users Group’s Global Conference.
“She is committed to always providing exceptional service to the client organizations she serves,” said Carol McGury, Executive Vice President, Event and Education Services. “She also has proven to be a master of achieving exhibitors’ goals and objectives.”
Launched in 2002, the Show Manager of the Year Award recognizes show organizers who are creating incredible experiences with their exhibitions and in their marketplace community. The awards are presented in five tiers based on the number of tradeshow booths. Anyone responsible for the production of a tradeshow is eligible for nomination.
Trummel received an obelisk trophy, and a donation was made to her charity of choice: A to Z Literacy Movement. Additionally, The Expo Group, an exhibition general contracting firm that underwrites the Show Manager of the Year awards, made donations in honor of all nominees to The Meetings Industry Fund, a newly formed entity designed to help industry professionals in times of financial crisis.
