Minnetronix Names Will Sutton Vice President of Engineering and Technology

ST. PAUL, Minn.--()--Minnetronix, Inc., a leading medical technology and innovation company, announced that Will Sutton has joined the company as Vice President of Engineering and Technology. Sutton has more than 25 years of industry experience including research, development, innovation, manufacturing and commercialization. He holds four patents and has helped bring more than 100 products from concept to commercialization.

Sutton will play an integral role on Minnetronix’ leadership team, leading business strategies to drive growth and capabilities for the company’s engineering organization. He will also lead Minnetronix’ highly experienced teams of software, electrical, mechanical, DFM and program management engineers in the development of technologies and therapies for the company and its customers.

Sutton most recently served as Chief Operating Officer for California based Hansen Medical, Inc., a medical robotics company. During Sutton’s tenure, Hansen launched 12 new products that account for 50 percent of the company’s current product revenue. Sutton’s experience also includes multiple executive positions in St. Jude Medical, Inc.’s Atrial Fibrillation Division, where he was named Vice President of Research and Development, after serving as Vice President of Program Management and Site Manager for the Minnetonka operations. He began at St. Jude as Director of Research and Development for cardiac surgery. Additionally, Sutton has held executive, director and management positions at Vascular Solutions, Inc., Urologix, Inc., CR Bard, Inc. and Abbott Labs, Inc.

Sutton earned both his Bachelor and Master of Science in mechanical engineering from Stanford University. At Stanford, Sutton’s senior design project received the prestigious Gold Award from the National College of Engineering and Technology.
