MINNEAPOLIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Logic PD, a complete product lifecycle solutions company for the digital world, is introducing its Digital Product Innovation Challenge! Designed to help businesses and entrepreneurs build the foundation of a digital product strategy, the innovative program takes teams through Logic PD’s accelerated Digital Product Management Curriculum. At the end of the Challenge, participants will compete for several prizes including a grand prize of $15,000 to put towards the development of their digital product.
“Developing and launching a digital product requires a different process than the traditional products that you are used to,” said Jason Voiovich, chief customer officer, Logic PD. “Drawing on Logic PD's proven framework and a proprietary toolbox, participants in this challenge will gain the knowledge and experience while developing a digital product business blueprint - the foundation for a successful digital product launch.”
For the inaugural Challenge, which runs Sept. 24-Nov. 19, Logic PD invited entrepreneurs and small business leaders with a pre-identified new digital product idea to participate in the program. The teams selected for the Challenge represent a variety of industries including consumer, industrial and medical product ideas. Digital products being developed include: a solar energy collection and payback monitor; a behavior modification wearable; a smart wake up light; a sun exposure wearable monitor; and an at-home physical therapy device.
Structured similar to a six-week mini-MBA program, participants attend weekly classes where they gain the knowledge and access the tools to refine their digital product business model and create a digital product business blueprint that will be the foundation for a full business plan.
Following the class sessions, teams will present their business blueprint to a panel of local experts representing key elements of a digital product launch. Winners will be selected based on the blueprint that presents a digital product most likely to launch, and deliver the highest ROI.
This year’s judging panel consists of:
- Shaye Mandle, CEO and President of LifeScience Alley
- Stephen R. Baird, Chair, Intellectual Property Department at Winthrop & Weinstine, P.A.
- Tim Blotz, Anchor/Reporter at KMSP-TV (Fox 9)
- Toby Nord, Professional Director of Carlson Ventures Enterprise at the University of Minnesota
- Lisa Walker, Vice President of Product Support Services at Logic PD
The winning team will be announced at a banquet to be held Nov. 19, 2015 at the Day Block Event Center in Minneapolis.
