SentinelOne CEO to Discuss how Nation State Malware is being “Criminalized” at Cyber Security World 2015

Tomer Weingarten will Explain how Attackers are using Government Grade Code to Circumvent Enterprise Security Measures

Tomer Weingarten, CEO of SentinelOne, a startup formed by an elite team of cyber security engineers and defense experts from Intel, McAfee, Checkpoint, IBM and the Israel Defense Forces. He is an expert in cyber security, advanced malware and forensics. Tomer and his team routinely work with law enforcement and intelligence agencies on cyber crime investigations. He has also led product development and strategy for the Toluna Group, held application security and consulting roles at various enterprises and was CTO at Carambola Media.

Nation state malware uses advanced attack and evasion techniques that allows it to infiltrate the most secure networks and remain undetected for long periods of time. In a session entitled, “Upping the Ante - How Malware is Being Retrofitted With Gov Attack Code”, Tomer will explain how this espionage-grade code slips past advanced security measures including dynamic analysis engines and reputation-based systems based on emulating binary execution and reviewing behavior data and malware residues. He will discuss how the cybercrime underground has obtained and repurposed elements of this malware for use in ransomware, online banking Trojans and targeted attacks. Tomer will cover:
-- The latest attack and evasion techniques being used by cybercriminals
-- How espionage-grade malware avoids detection by existing enterprise security mechanisms
-- Best practices and counter-measures that can be used to defend against this new and increasingly common espionage-grade malware
