NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Pypestream today announced the closing of $2 million in seed round funding. The funding will be used to accelerate sales and the continued development of the company’s proprietary technology that securely connects brands with their customers using mobile messaging.
Pypestream provides an customer experience similar to messaging with a friend as opposed to traditional customer service channels, such as call centers or email, while providing enterprise grade business features. Pypestream is currently running a beta program with selected partners and will be extending the opportunity for more companies to sign up for the platform when it is publicly launched. Companies can also reserve their name on Pypestream now.
“It’s amazing that no solution exists in the market to date that allows brands to provide customer service in a way that is convenient and seamlessly integrated into the lifestyle of today’s consumer,” said Jonah Goodhart, an investor and co-founder of WGI Group. “Pypestream is changing the dynamic of brand/customer communication, and we are proud to stand with the team today and moving forward as the company further establishes its industry leadership.”
“Over the course of the past nine months, Pypestream has developed and refined unique technology to change the way brands communicate with their customers,” said Richard Smullen, CEO, Pypestream. “Consumers are absolutely inundated with marketing messages every day. The overwhelming majority of email they receive is spam; the sheer volume of social content makes it impossible for consumers to pay attention to it all; and, traditional methods, such as call centers, are frustrating, time consuming and outdated. With Pypestream, we’ve created a platform that is exclusively built for responsive, efficient B2C communications.”
Prior to founding Pypestream, Richard Smullen served as co-founder and CEO at AdGenesis. His executive team and investors are made up of seasoned industry veterans, including:
