Medidata Hires Michael Pinto as Global Sales Leader to Accelerate Adoption of Cloud Technology in Clinical Development

Former SVP and General Manager of SAP Billion-Dollar-Plus Unit Joins Medidata to Drive Execution of Company’s Growth Agenda

NEW YORK--()--Medidata (NASDAQ:MDSO), the leading global provider of cloud-based solutions for clinical research in life sciences, today announced that Michael Pinto has joined the company as executive vice president and general manager of global sales. Reporting to Medidata’s chief commercial officer Steve Hirschfeld, Pinto will lead the global sales organization, as the company continues to scale its business and execute its growth strategy.

Pinto joins Medidata from DocuSign, where he served as vice president and general manager for the enterprise and healthcare life sciences industry. Prior to joining DocuSign, he was senior vice president and general manager of SAP’s billion-dollar-plus US East Coast unit, driving transformation across sales, marketing, operations, value engineering, solution engineering, channels and professional service functions. Pinto has held positions at multiple companies across the healthcare ecosystem, including top-tier pharmaceutical companies Bristol-Myers Squibb and American Home Products (now part of Pfizer), healthcare start-ups, and cloud solutions provider Model N. He earned a BA in economics from Lafayette College and an MBA in finance and marketing from the New York University Stern School of Business.
