UPPER MARLBORO, Md.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Delegates of the Maryland State Council of Machinists unanimously endorsed Rep. Donna Edwards (D-4th) to fill the vacancy created by the upcoming retirement of long-time Maryland Democratic Sen. Barbara Mikulski.
“Rep. Edwards has a well-deserved reputation for fighting for the issues that matter most to Machinists in Maryland: good jobs; secure retirement and a decent standard of living that can be passed from one generation to the next,” said IAM President Tom Buffenbarger. “She won our endorsement the old-fashioned way: she earned it.”
Based in Upper Marlboro, MD, the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) represents nearly 5,000 workers across Maryland, in addition to 600,000 active and retired members throughout North America.
