SANTA CLARA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Vantage Data Centers, a leading provider of data center solutions in support of mission critical applications, today announced that it is adding veteran sales executive Joe Goldsmith to its leadership team. Goldsmith, who most recently spent nine years as a vice president at Digital Realty Trust, will assume the position of Chief Revenue Officer at Vantage.
Goldsmith will be based out of the company’s Santa Clara, CA headquarters. As demand for state-of-the-art data center space continues to grow, particularly in Silicon Valley, ensuring a local point of contact for customer interface is increasingly important.
“Vantage continues to experience strong growth, as evidenced by record bookings in 2015 from both new and existing customers,” said Sureel Choksi, President and CEO, Vantage. “Given the large opportunity we see in existing and potential expansion markets, we are significantly increasing our investment in sales. We are excited to welcome Joe Goldsmith, a proven sales executive with a tremendous track record of success in the data center market.”
A 25-year industry veteran, Goldsmith most recently served as Vice President of sales at Digital Realty Trust, where he was part of the management team that grew the company’s annual revenue from approximately $200 million to over $1.5 billion. Prior to Digital Realty Trust, Goldsmith held sales and sales management roles at Qwest, COLO.COM, FiberTower and Pacific Bell.
Greg Vernon, Senior Vice President, Sales, will be moving into a new role as Senior Vice President, Business Development where he will lead key strategic accounts and partnerships.
“Greg Vernon has been instrumental in leading the company’s strong sales traction over the past two years,” said Choksi. “We are excited that Greg will now be leading our business development efforts, leveraging his 15 years of data center industry experience to drive key account and partner efforts.”
