CRANBERRY TOWNSHIP, Pa.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The PITTSBURGH PAINTS & STAINS® brand is refreshing the way homeowners choose paint colors with the Digital Inspiration Studio, a new interactive color center at MENARDS® retail locations. The new retail palette display features an interactive 42-inch digital touchscreen and serves as a comprehensive inspiration station to simplify the process of selecting paint colors.
Gone are the days of sorting through row after row of color swatches only to leave the paint department empty-handed and frustrated, according to Luke Klein, brand manager, Pittsburgh Paints & Stains, a brand of PPG Architectural Coatings. “In designing the new Pittsburgh Paints & Stains color center, we wanted to provide homeowners with an inspiring experience that not only helps them select paint colors for their homes, but also serves as a creative launchpad for their entire paint project.”
Among its many features, the touchscreen allows customers to virtually paint a room with selected colors, view color on-screen on a larger scale, receive an email containing the paint swatches and painted room to view later, view color-tips videos, ideas and product information, browse by color, style and personality, and more. CIO® Magazine recently named the technology behind the touchscreen as a 2015 CIO 100® Award recipient.
Other features of the new color center, which is currently in all Menards stores, include:
- A nine-foot-long color library featuring 1,081 color swatches and all-new brochures segmented by color;
- Ability to bring to life color swatches and brochures on the touchscreen by scanning a barcode on each swatch and brochure, and then viewing colors on the screen, finding complementary colors and virtually painting brochure room images in different colors;
- Guides to room-by-room projects with various styles and information about using color;
- 2016 color trends; and
- Painting tips.
“The process for selecting paint can often be overwhelming, with the large number of color choices available,” Klein said. “The new state-of-the-art Pittsburgh Paints & Stains Digital Inspiration Studio at Menards locations makes the process of exploring and choosing the just-right colors and quality paint for your home both inspiring and manageable. We want customers to leave the store with the confidence that the colors they have chosen will be perfect for their homes.”
