ATLANTA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--ScottMadden, Inc., one of North America’s leading energy consulting firms, is pleased to announce the addition of the new Grid Transformation practice and the promotion of Cristin Lyons to Grid Transformation practice leader.
Ms. Lyons joined ScottMadden in 1999 and has been a partner since 2007, specializing in grid transformation and distributed energy resources, operations improvement and process redesign, Smart Grid, organizational design and restructuring, merger and acquisition integration, and transmission operations. She has consulted with myriad transmission and distribution clients on issues ranging from process and organizational redesign to merger integration to project and program management. She is also a frequent speaker and panelist at conferences across the country.
The new Grid Transformation practice helps clients adapt to the operational, planning, customer, and regulatory changes driven by the increasing penetration of distributed energy resources, such as distributed generation, storage, demand response, and microgrids. “Depending on the jurisdiction, our clients face significant pressure to change the way they deliver electricity and operate the grid. Whether the driver for these changes is the regulator, the customer, or other stakeholders, we help them evolve to meet this new environment,” says Ms. Lyons.
Brad Kitchens, president and CEO of ScottMadden, notes, “We establish practice areas at ScottMadden only when we see a market-driven topic where we need internal leadership to organize our efforts and develop our capabilities on behalf of our clients. Grid Transformation certainly fits this definition, and Cristin was the obvious choice to lead this important practice area. She is a nationally recognized leader in transmission and distribution matters, and now that includes distributed energy resources.”
Ms. Lyons earned a B.A. in political science and Spanish from Gettysburg College and an M.B.A. from the Cox School of Business at Southern Methodist University. She is also a member of Phi Beta Kappa.
