In his new role, Dumont is responsible for all of GroupM’s business activities in Québec, including the work of agencies Mindshare, MEC, MediaCom and Maxus; Xaxis, the world’s leading programmatic buying platform; and Catalyst, Canada’s number one search and social agency. He will ensure that all GroupM companies and their clients benefit from GroupM’s unrivaled scale and expertise in areas including trading, technology, programmatic, search and data analytics.
He will be based in Montréal and reports to Kelly Clark, the GroupM North America CEO. He will work closely with the Canada CEOs of the various GroupM companies.
Dumont is a twenty-year media veteran who has held GroupM leadership roles at MEC and MediaCom. Most recently, he was Managing Director, Global Client Leader for MEC Paris, working with clients including Michelin, Danone, Chanel, Remy Cointreau, and Blizzard. Prior to that role, he held a senior client leadership role with MEC in New York for more than four years.
“Our clients choose our agencies to help them grow,” said Kelly Clark, GroupM North America CEO. “In Canada, this means deploying the right talent to the right markets where consumers speak different languages and are culturally diverse. Axel’s track record, including his success with global and local clients in France and the US, makes him a great addition to our leadership team in Canada. I know he will help our agencies and our clients win in Québec.”
“Québec is critically important to any brand looking to succeed in Canada,” said Dumont. “GroupM’s trading power and investments in technology and data create real competitive advantage for marketers. As a result, our agencies are in a unique position to help our clients succeed, and I’m looking forward to helping them make that happen.”
