Hitron and Access Communications Team to Deliver Leading-Edge Entertainment, Connectivity and Security Services

Hitron’s High-Performance Dual-Band DOCSIS 3.0 WiFi Gateway Enables Access to Provide Customers with Revolutionary, High-Speed Integrated Entertainment and Internet Services

ENGLEWOOD, Colo.--()--Hitron Technologies Inc., the global leader in the design, manufacturing and distribution of innovative high-performance DOCSIS products for Multiple-System Operators worldwide, and Access Communications Co-operative, a Saskatchewan-owned non-profit co-operative that provides exceptional communications and entertainment services, are teaming up to deliver new leading-edge technology to enable next-generation Internet-enabled entertainment and security services for residential and commercial applications.

The new Hitron CGNM-2250 DOCSIS 3.0 WiFi Gateway delivers data throughput rates of up to 960 Mbps with 24 bonded downstream channels over its DOCSIS interface. The gateway provides high-performance Internet access and wireless speeds that support the advanced services Access is deploying to its customers, including AccessEvo and AccessHyperSpeed.

In addition to an integrated four-port Gigabit Ethernet switch for wired connectivity to Ethernet-enabled devices, the CGNM-2250 also features an integrated 3x3 802.11n and 802.11ac dual-band MIMO access point. The MIMO access point provides five GHz-capable devices, such as smartphones and tablets, with reliable connectivity for video streaming and other bandwidth-intensive applications, while freeing up the crowded 2.4 GHz band for other legacy devices. More than 12 North American cable operators currently deploy Hitron’s 24x8 products.

“Our advanced services have revolutionized the way our customers receive and interact with our Internet-based content and services. We’re introducing the next generation of home entertainment technology and delivering blazing fast Internet speeds that increase productivity and optimize the performance of bandwidth-intensive applications, like streaming video and online gaming,” explained Rob Bazilewich, Chief Technology Officer at Access Communications Co-operative. “Working with Hitron to deliver state-of-the-art CPE to our customers that delivers the speed and reliability required by advanced applications. This is absolutely critical to the successful rollout of all the services on our roadmap.”

“We enjoy working with Access Communications because they are on the leading edge of content delivery and advanced connectivity applications for both their residential and business customers,” stated Todd Babic, Chief Sales and Marketing Officer for Hitron Technologies Americas. “The advanced applications that Access provides are enabled and optimized by the industry-leading performance that our CGNM-2250 gateway delivers. It’s particularly gratifying to know that we are an integral partner in helping Access to realize its goal of providing leading-edge technologies and tools to their customers.”
