With twenty five years of sales leadership experience, Weisgerber joins GumGum with a track record of building profitable online businesses and driving revenue. Weisgerber’s hire heightens GumGum’s ability to meet the rapidly growing demand for in-image advertising opportunities from both agencies and brands. GumGum recently raised $26 million in venture funding from Morgan Stanley Expansion Capital, which is being used, in part, to expand sales and marketing functions within the organization.

Prior to joining GumGum, Weisgerber served most recently as Executive Director of Digital Advertising at Hearst Corp. in its Fashion and Luxury Collection, which includes Elle.com, HarpersBazaar.com, MarieClaire.com, and TownandCountryMag.com. Before joining Hearst Corp., Weisgerber worked as Vice President of Digital Advertising of Hachette Filipacchi Media overseeing sales and operations for a network of twelve sites. Prior to that, he worked for five years at Forbes Media where he was Group Advertising Director of Forbes.com. John began his career at Ziff-Davis Publishing as the Associate Publisher of Yahoo! Internet Life.
