RICHMOND, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Patrick Sturdivant has been named president of Anthem HealthKeepers Plus, a Virginia Medicaid health plan offered by HealthKeepers, Inc. Sturdivant succeeds the recently retired Anthem HealthKeepers Plus president, Gary Radtke, and is now responsible for leading all aspects of the health plan’s operations, including statewide services to enrollees of Virginia’s Medicaid and Family Access to Medical Insurance Security Plan (FAMIS) programs.
Sturdivant most recently served as a staff vice president for an affiliate of the health plan’s parent company in Texas, leading Medicaid strategy and initiatives. He also served as chief operating officer for the affiliate’s Dallas/Fort Worth and rural service area health plan, serving approximately 500,000 members enrolled in the plan’s Temporary Assistance for Needy Families; Aged, Blind and Disabled and Long Term Care programs.
“I am thrilled that Patrick has joined our Virginia health plan and will continue to support our company’s government business division,” said Brian Shipp, Anthem’s South Region Medicaid President. “He brings tremendous Medicaid experience to his new role, and I look forward to working with him as we continue to serve our members across the commonwealth.”
Prior to joining the company in 2011, Sturdivant held several leadership positions with other leading healthcare providers in Texas. He served as a regional executive director for FirstCare Health Plans, as a vice president of operations and chief operating officer for Physicians Network Services, and as a managed care director for University Medical Center. Sturdivant also earned a finance degree from Texas Tech University.
As the Anthem HealthKeepers Plus president, Sturdivant leads Virginia’s largest provider of Medicaid managed care services. He is based in Richmond, Va. and is responsible for services to 280,000 members.
