BRENTWOOD, Tenn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Today, HealthTrust announces a new, five-year relationship with Tenet Healthcare that will commence on Feb. 1, 2016. HealthTrust was selected for its supply chain cost management solutions, including immediate contract value, clinical and custom sourcing expertise, and depth of its supply chain shared services experience.
Under the terms of the new agreement, HealthTrust will partner with Tenet Healthcare to drive best operating and clinical practices, and accelerate cost savings across 81 acute care hospitals and 19 surgical hospitals.
“Our operating philosophies are closely aligned, making this an ideal collaboration that will deliver significant benefit,” says HealthTrust President and CEO Ed Jones. “We are energized to share best practices with such a progressive and highly regarded provider.”
Speed to Value and Integrated Supply Chain Services
The agreement contemplates immediate contract value from HealthTrust’s committed portfolio. HealthTrust’s clinical and sourcing experts will also be closely integrated with Tenet’s service line and supply chain leadership to execute on innovative and transformational initiatives.
“Tenet’s performance in the supply chain has historically been very strong,” says Kristy Waters, senior vice president of Performance Management and Innovation for Tenet Healthcare. “Our decision to bring certain supply chain functions back in-house and to consolidate all group purchasing activities within HealthTrust comes after conducting a rigorous evaluation of our alternatives. HealthTrust distinguished itself in two compelling ways―by providing clear evidence of immediate value and demonstrating the breadth and depth of its supply chain expertise.”
“Our committed model is clearly a differentiator,” says HealthTrust Chief Operating Officer Michael Berryhill, “and with the addition of Tenet we have a unique opportunity to further strengthen our benchmark portfolio, which will advantage all HealthTrust members.”
