WESTBOROUGH, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--On the heels of recent reports that the American healthcare system is steadily shifting toward more personalized medicine, and with wearable technology popularity at an all-time high, ActiveRx, an emerging national franchise brand of Strengtherapy® Centers, announced today a strategic partnership with Nudge, a popular mobile smartphone fitness application. This first-of-its-kind partnership will integrate the brand’s strategies with measurable results by facilitating the tracking of members’ health and lifestyle behaviors.
This addition of Nudge is part of ActiveRx’s new and improved business model, Strengtherapy 2.0, which is a scientifically-proven method that regenerates years of functional strength for those 60 and older. With a HIPAA compliant application, Health Tracking Dashboard and Coaching Platform, Nudge allows health and biometric data to be freely exchanged between patients and healthcare providers, adding another level of expertise to ActiveRx’s already unmatched high quality approach to helping Americans age successfully.
“As a company, Nudge understands just as much as we do the importance of using physical activity and other data to improve the health behaviors of individuals and the healthcare system as a whole,” said Matt Essex, Founder of ActiveRx. “The partnership is revolutionary for our brand and we are extremely excited for the long-term, innovative opportunities to come from this alliance.”
Founded in 2013 by Mac Gambill and Phil Beene, Nudge is an easy-to-use smart device (iPhone/iPad, Android phone/tablet) application that provides ActiveRx members with a lifestyle balance score called the “Nudge Factor”, a 30-day consolidated snapshot of their ongoing health-related habits. The four pillars of preventative health that weigh most heavily into the Nudge Factor are exercise duration, sleep duration, fruit and vegetable consumption and water consumption.
"We couldn't be more excited to begin working with the ActiveRx team, as they were one of the first groups we approached with the idea for Nudge Coach,” said Mac Gambill, Cofounder and CEO of Nudge. “They are thought leaders in the lifestyle healthcare and wellness space, and have uniquely positioned themselves in the market with their Strengtherapy model."
The Houston and Scottsdale ActiveRx locations will be the first centers in the system to launch the new model, which will include the Nudge application and the addition of wearable technology for members.
ActiveRx has 11 open locations operating in eight states, and has executed agreements that will add 20 new centers to its nationwide network. Company executives anticipate signing an additional 10-15 franchise agreements before the end of 2015 and as many as 20-25 more in 2016, all of which will operate under the new Strengtherapy 2.0 model. ActiveRx has successfully established locations in Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Illinois, Massachusetts, Michigan, South Carolina and Texas, and will soon launch new Strengtherapy® Centers in Connecticut and Nevada.
Based in Westborough, Massachusetts, ActiveRx is the premiere destination for people 60 and older looking to enhance their quality of life by increasing not only the power of their bodies but also their confidence, camaraderie and independence. Through its proprietary Strengtherapy system, a scientifically proven method that regenerates years of functional strength with a minimal time investment, ActiveRx restores vitality and the ability to live life to the fullest.
