LOS ANGELES--()--Mitchell Silberberg & Knupp LLP (MSK) is pleased to announce that Jonathan Turner, former founding partner of Epstein Turner Weiss, has joined the firm’s Los Angeles office as a partner in the Labor & Employment practice.

Mr. Turner has more than three decades of labor experience, having begun his career in 1981 as an attorney with the National Labor Relations Board, Region 21 (Los Angeles). Before entering private practice in 1988, he was staff counsel for the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers, and corporate labor and employment counsel for Twentieth Century Fox. A significant portion of his practice is in the motion picture industry, where he has represented studios and other employers in labor arbitrations, administrative proceedings, civil litigation, union avoidance issues, and collective bargaining negotiations.

“We are pleased to welcome Jonathan to the firm,” said Kevin Gaut, Chairman of MSK. “He has represented management in all aspects of labor and employment law for his entire career, and with his extensive film industry experience, is a perfect complement to our well-known entertainment practice.”

Mr. Turner is a long-time member of the California Minority Counsel Program (CMCP), as well as the National Association of Minority & Women Owned Law Firms (NAMWOLF). MSK shares Mr. Turner’s vision for advancing diversity and inclusion in the legal profession, and is also a long-time member of CMCP, as well as a member of the Firm Affiliate Network of the Minority Corporate Counsel Association.

“In addition to being an exceptional lawyer, Jonathan has been committed to and supported diversity in the legal field for his entire career, and that is extremely important to our firm as well,” said Nimish Patel, Vice Chairman of MSK.

Mr. Turner earned his J.D. from the University of California at Davis School of Law, and his B.A. in Psychology, with honors, from California State University, Chico.
