SALT LAKE CITY--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Since the launch of the Jane iOS app in July 2014, sales resulting from mobile and handheld device traffic make up more than 70% of Jane.com’s total revenue. Needless to say, mobile has quickly become a key element of success in Jane.com’s business model.
“Mobile is a game changer, particularly in a crowded space like ours where many competitors don't have a mobile app or don't focus much on mobile responsive designs,” says Mike McEwan, CEO and Founder. “We realized early on that if our customers are on their phones we need to be there as well.”
Simplicity is the primary focus of the Jane iOS app (as well as in the newly released Android app). The user-friendly interface and sleek design combine to create eye candy for Jane shoppers. Jane.com’s integration with Braintree, a PayPal company specializing in secure mobile payments, offers Jane shoppers the ease of one touch checkout.
“Our goal was to have the most unobtrusive and super-simple design.” McEwan says. “When customers get to the checkout point it should be a matter of just clicking a button. Our dev team and Braintree integration matched what I had in mind perfectly.”
McEwan was recently invited to participate on a panel at the Fashion Digital New York Conference on the success of mobile growth as a revenue driver. While there, McEwan announced that Jane has completely changed their design and marketing efforts to “mobile first, everything else second.” App usage grows month over month and Jane does not anticipate growth slowing any time soon.
