HOUSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Although they have worked together for decades on senior-level executive searches for a global client base, team members at The Alexander Group found their relationships tested by a trouble-plagued road trip involving heated disputes over snack food, music selections, and a traffic stop interrupted by Uncle Sam himself. Video footage of the disastrous trip can be viewed here: https://youtu.be/kt4D6SrGIM8.
As seen in the video, by the time they terminated the misbegotten holiday voyage 45 minutes later, they could agree on only two things: the Fourth of July is a wonderful time to celebrate one’s independence from the office, and also to express thanks to service members who preserve our freedom.
Cramped in an American flag-strewn VW bus, The Alexander Group executives immediately took issue with Managing Director Jane Howze’s offerings of Snickers bars and Oscar Mayer wieners. “I should have known our resident health nut would turn his nose up at my all-American snacks,” said Howze, nodding conspicuously in the direction of Associate Director William Lepiesza who ran track at Brown University and was busy, at the moment, conducting a high-level executive search for a tech startup.
“The whole thing was a bust,” confessed Managing Director John Lamar, who appeared beaten down after enduring vociferous challenges to his navigational choices and being pulled over within a mile of the trip’s start. “That’s when things got weird,” he said, referring perhaps to the appearance of a woman clad in a Statue of Liberty costume, or to the roadside reprieve he received from Uncle Sam himself.
With a great sense of relief after cancelling the trip, The Alexander Group found a better way to celebrate the Fourth: making a donation in its clients’ names to Fisher House, which provides lodging and other support to families of military personnel undergoing medical treatment.
The Alexander Group has used its website, video, and social media to engage and connect with its team and clients for more than a decade. The firm started its December holiday video greetings benefiting not-for-profits in the early 2000s, and now with numerous winter holiday videos under its belt, is continuing its trend of innovation with a Fourth of July video.
