3D Systems manufactures and sells three-dimensional printing devices. The complaint alleges that 3D Systems increased their stock price by issuing false and misleading statements in violation of the securities laws regarding (i) the Company’s ability to increase the capacity of its metal printing business; (ii) demand for its consumer products; (iii) the value of multiple companies it was acquiring; and (iv) the Company’s expected earnings.
On October 22, 2014, the Company announced disappointing third quarter results, and lowered their full year earnings and revenue guidance. As a result of this news, shares fell 15% on heavy volume.
