ALPHARETTA, Ga.--()--Highlighting the importance of investments in manufacturing, innovation and job creation, officials from the Bartlesville Development Authority in Oklahoma made a goodwill visit to the Siemens GA 400 location outside of Atlanta, Ga. The group included representatives from Bartlesville’s economic development team, the Greater Oklahoma City Chamber of Commerce and the American Electric Power/Public Service Company of Oklahoma.

Siemens has more than 70 manufacturing facilities across the United States, including its Bartlesville location. Employees at this plant manufacture gas chromatographs and process automation solutions that provide critical information about factory processes to plant operators, helping to drive our nation’s energy revolution and bolster our manufacturing renaissance.

“Our group is very pleased to visit the Siemens Alpharetta facility and express our appreciation for the investment the company has made in Oklahoma - Bartlesville in particular,” said Ann Gaines, Director of Business Development for the Bartlesville Development Authority. “For more than 40 years, this location has provided high-quality jobs with opportunities for advancement for our residents, and we are extremely grateful.”

Siemens is a pillar in the Bartlesville community, having previously partnered with Tri County Technology Center to provide training for careers in manufacturing. Currently, 86 percent of all employees in the facility are residents of Bartlesville.

Siemens gives back to Bartlesville through employee-driven, charitable drives and events, including multiple sponsorships of United Way and Relay for Life events and organizing volunteers at Woolaroc, a local wildlife preserve.

“Siemens employees are passionate about their careers, as well as their communities in which they live and serve. We are privileged to count Bartlesville as one of the many U.S. cities in which our company and employees flourish,” said Anne Cooney, President of Process Industries and Drives in the U.S.

The 700 employees in the Siemens facility in Alpharetta develop and manufacture drive components that support major American industries including transportation, mining, and low-voltage drives. Most recently, the facility provided the propulsion systems for the Atlanta Streetcar.

Siemens also offers several training courses and apprenticeships for local high school and college students as well as a work program for employees with cognitive and physical disabilities

“Siemens continues to be a premier business partner for our area,” said Randall Touissant, Vice President of Economic Development with the Cumming-Forsyth County Chamber of Commerce.

The Bartlesville factory opened in 1968 as a subsidiary of the Phillips Petroleum Company, which Siemens acquired in 1999.

Siemens Process Industries and Drives helps its customers increase productivity, safety, reliability, efficiency and time-to-market for plants and processes with innovative, integrated technology across the entire lifecycle.
