wRipple Officially Launches in San Francisco

First iOS App for On-Demand Socially Driven Offers, Providing Virally-Charged Discounts at Soma StrEat Food Park, Ravits Watches and Jewelry, and Other Select Merchants

The new app allows consumers to share deals that they receive from a merchant with their friends on social media. Customers engage with wRipple in one of two ways. To create the first ripple, customers search wRipple retailers and then shop, save and share discounts that they receive with their friends through social media. They can be part of a second ripple by searching and using an existing deal shared by another wRipple friend. By "liking" or commenting on wRipple posts on Facebook, customers keep the wave moving to a third ripple, and so on. The more that customers and their friends engage in ripples together, the more offers they can access. For merchants, this means that a discount to just one wRipple user can get their brand in front of potentially thousands of that customer’s friends and extended network.

Following a successful beta test with merchants in New York, such as Ooh la la Boutique and My Beach Baby, wRipple is focused on expanding its partnerships with regional and national merchants on both the West and East Coasts. wRipple charges merchants a transaction fee, making the program substantially more effective and lower priced than other discount programs, loyalty cards, and social media marketing.
