TAIPEI, Taiwan--(BUSINESS WIRE)--CyberLink Corp. (5203.TW), the world’s leading consumer multimedia software company, announced the selection of CyberLink SeeQVault Player as Toshiba’s first PC media player compatible with the SeeQVault specification. SeeQVault is a technology developed by a consortium of electronics companies led by Toshiba that allows consumers to store and move DRM protected content across in-home and mobile devices.
Traditionally, protected HD content is difficult to transfer to external storage or mobile devices. Not only has this been inconvenient for the consumer, but it has limited the growth of digital media distribution. Under the SeeQVault standard, protected HD content can be viewed on any compliant platform, including desktop and laptop computers.
“CyberLink has always been at the forefront of media playback, leading the way with support for new video and audio technologies,” said Alice H. Chang, CEO of CyberLink. “We are excited to be the first to partner with Toshiba to bring SeeQVault to market in a player that will expand our customers’ entertainment ecosystem and offer them more freedom when viewing premium content.”
CyberLink SeeQVault Player is compatible with the following Toshiba devices:
- DBR-M590 REZGA Server
- DBR-T550 REZGA Server
- DBR-T560 REZGA Server
- DBR-Z510 REGZA Blu-ray
- DBR-Z520 REGZA Blu-ray
CyberLink SeeQVault Player will be launched initially in the Japanese market, preloaded on select Toshiba computers.
