FRANKFORT, Ky.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--With the goal of streamlining the way that citizens of the Commonwealth access government resources and interact with agencies and elected officials, Kentucky State Government launched a new Kentucky.gov website earlier this month.
The site now features streamlined content, multi-sourced search, local government and legislation integration, and geocoding capabilities in a dynamic and mobile-friendly fashion.
“Improving the user experience of Kentucky.gov provides more open and increased accessibility to state government resources and officials, allowing us to better serve Kentuckians,” said Finance and Administration Cabinet Secretary Lori H. Flanery.
The new Kentucky.gov provides optimized search results, with corresponding agency and service cards. Results also highlight local, geotagged content in a responsive design that automatically adjusts to any device. Dynamic content is presented in a quick and compliant coded manner, ensuring that the site is fully accessible across the broadest range of Web browsers.
“The new Kentucky.gov makes it easier for users to search for and find information,” said Jim Fowler, Chief Information Officer of the Commonwealth of Kentucky. “A new helpful feature is geocoding, or using a person’s current location, which will maximize user efficiency and experience to locate services close by.”
Kentucky.gov provides eGovernment content for more than 375 state agencies, boards and local governments, and offers more than 300 eGovernment online services.
The state’s official website was redesigned at no cost to Kentucky taxpayers through a public-private partnership between the Commonwealth’s eGovernment partner, Kentucky Interactive LLC., a subsidiary of NIC and the Commonwealth of Kentucky.
