RevMob Launches New SDK for Monetizing App Users with Rewarded and Interstitial Video Ads

Leading Mobile Ad Network Expands Capabilities for App Developers and Publishers to More Easily Secure Revenue and Higher eCPMs

SAN FRANCISCO--()--RevMob, a leading mobile ad platform, today announced a new software development kit (SDK) that enables global publishers, developers and advertisers to easily include in-app rewarded and interstitial video ads to better monetize users while maintaining loyalty and engagement.

Displayed in high-definition resolution, rewarded video ads can be offered to mobile game users to earn additional ‘lives’ to stay in the game after playing and viewing the video. Rewarded video ads can also encourage consumers to try specific features of a mobile utility. Interstitial video ads are typically displayed at natural transition points in the flow of an app, such as between activities or during the pause between levels in a game. When an app shows an interstitial video ad, the user has the choice to either tap and view the ad or close it and return to the application.

According to RevMob’s beta testing of its video SDK, rewarded video campaigns and interstitial videos saw increases in click-thru rates (CTR) up to 50% and increases in conversion (CVR) rates up to 60% compared to traditional banner ads.

“Mobile video ads are gaining more traction among gaming developers and for good reason – mobile users find them much more engaging so there’s a higher conversion rate that drives higher eCPM results,” said Pedro Jahara, CEO of RevMob. “While banner ads sell with words and pictures, video can tell a more complete story. If you combine video with user interaction, audience interest increases even more dramatically.”

“RevMob is proud to now offer the best video ad support in the mobile advertising industry to help our customers fully realize the monetization potential of app users,” Jahara said.

The RevMob video SDK offers several key features for higher eCPMs and revenue, including:

  • Customization – For rewarded video ads, developers can determine ad frequency, video length (up to 30 seconds) as well as deliver an ad in context, e.g. when a user almost beats a high score. For interstitial video ads, developers can enable the user to “skip” the ad after a specific time frame, feature videos up to 30 seconds or longer as well as displaying only after certain session length.
  • Easy implementation – Video ads are easy to implement with several pre- and post-roll banners for advertisers to choose from.
  • Increased engagement – Mobile game users often respond to reward videos because of the incentives, while interstitial are a “low interruption” ad that puts the video in a full-screen in front of the user.
  • RevMob offers CPV payment method and also supports Video Ad Serving Template (VAST) tags to facilitate for advertisers.
