SPRING GROVE, Ill.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Intermatic, a global leader in energy management solutions, announced today that its Surge Protective Device with Consumable Modules has been named the Protective Devices Category Winner in EC&M’s 2015 Product of the Year competition.
Intermatic’s Surge Protective Device was selected for the honor by EC&M’s 14-judge panel representing electrical professionals from engineering, contracting, plant facilities and maintenance industries. This is the second year in a row that an Intermatic product has been selected as one of EC&M’s prestigious category winners.
“We are very honored to be recognized by EC&M, a leading industry publication,” said Kim Durkot, Intermatic Product Manager. “Our customers have been delighted with the combination of hard-wired surge protection and simple DIY maintenance that the Surge Protective Device with Consumable Modules delivers.”
Designed for residential and light commercial applications, the Surge Protective Device utilizes TPMOV® technology that allows homeowners and facility personnel to easily and safely replace the Consumable Modules when protection is compromised.
“Power surges can be the ‘silent killers’ for critical equipment and systems,” says Brady Tauber, Intermatic Senior Marketing Manager. “The Surge Protective Device with Consumable Modules offers not only peace of mind, but a significant cost savings to many users who won’t have to replace hardwired devices when surge protection is compromised or having to replace an appliance that was left unprotected.”
The Surge Protective Device with Consumable Modules joins 41 other product category winners as a finalist in EC&M’s 2015 Product of the Year competition. The winner will be determined by an online EC&M readers’ poll held in June. “Out of 199 product entries received, our panel of expert judges narrowed down to the 42 most innovative product introductions of the past year. Congratulations to our finalists on being included among the ‘best of the best,’ and thank you for your ongoing commitment to developing products that help those of us in the electrical industry perform our jobs faster, more efficiently, more profitably, and—most important—safer,” said Mike Eby, Editor in Chief, EC&M.
