AUSTIN, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--CognitiveScale launched CognitiveU, a comprehensive training curricula for systems integrators, enterprise IT professionals, and application developers. CognitiveU is held at the company’s new 22,000 square foot headquarters in northwest Austin where attendees are trained on its Cognitive Cloud platform and master the skills and go-to-market strategies required to accelerate a company’s investments in cognitive computing.
Led by seasoned executives and academics with extensive experience in cognitive computing, CognitiveU includes interactive sessions that weave together technology, methods, and standards to deliver real life examples and hands-on exercises.
“The era of Cognitive computing will have profound implications for how companies are going to use machines to augment intelligence inside and outside the enterprise to enable a digital business. We’re seeing first-hand the increasing demand for cognitive solutions across a variety of industries and consequently, companies will need to find skills, training and education to meet this opportunity,” said Dr. Joydeep Ghosh, Schlumberger Centennial Chair Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at The University of Texas at Austin. “I am happy to see CognitiveScale launch CognitiveU to help customers and partners develop cognitive applications and gain the broad array of skills required to successfully go-to-market and deliver smart solutions to clients.”
The three-day program is held at CognitiveScale’s headquarters or at a client or business partner site. It builds on the core ideas behind cognitive computing and provides the data, skills, technology, and methods to develop cognitive applications from start to finish using CognitiveScale’s Insights Fabric™ cognitive computing platform.
Going beyond traditional classroom learning, participants gain real-world experience to sell and engage customers on CognitiveScale’s Cognitive Garage, a unique way to rapidly deliver customer focused Cognitive Applications. In CognitiveU, participants learn the methods and skills required to accelerate the development of cognitive applications, including solutions for industries such as healthcare and retail, as well as business processes such as IT support and procurement.
Systems integrators benefit from additional sales enablement training modules designed to identify new opportunities, understand and assess client needs, reach decision makers, and price engagements.
“Conservative estimates put the cognitive computing market at $50B by 2018 because it has enormous potential to positively transform healthcare into patient-centric care; shopping and travel into personalized concierge services, and empower businesses to streamline operations for maximum productivity. And that’s just the start,” said Akshay Sabhikhi, CEO, CognitiveScale. “CognitiveU was created to ensure that potential is fully realized by decreasing learning curves and accelerating the business value from cognitive-based solutions.”
Upon completion of CognitiveU, participants receive a formal training certification and acquire the knowledge and hands-on experience to immediately put their skills to work. This enables their clients and companies to achieve greater efficiencies and cost savings while boosting productivity through cognitive computing. Also, since Insights Fabric is an open, standards based platform that leverages analytic services from IBM Watson, Google and Amazon, CognitiveU participants gain highly valuable and marketable skills to support the industry’s most popular cognitive computing platforms.
CognitiveScale™ powers standards-based Cognitive Clouds, which are revolutionizing the big data and analytics markets. Cognitive Clouds power a new class of data interpretation and learning applications that weave contextual and actionable intelligence into business processes and applications. They work on massive amounts of multi-structured data including text, images and video to generate actionable insights from Dark Data – data that is not machine readable, not easily accessible, or not leveraged.
The Cognitive Cloud platform, called Insights Fabric™, accelerates the creation of domain optimized cognitive applications for healthcare, retail and employee shared services.
