AUSTIN, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--IT’S TIME TEXAS (formerly ACTIVE Life), a nonprofit organization working to unite and accelerate the health movement in Texas, announced its fifth annual IT’S TIME TEXAS Summit. The two-day event will take place in Austin at the JW Marriott, June 15th and 16th, 2015. The Summit is the only annual community health event of its kind designed to motivate and mobilize communities in Texas to engage in healthier lifestyles through innovative tools, presentations and workshops provided by leaders in the health and wellness industry.
This year’s keynote speaker is Dr. Ronald A. DePinho, M.D., president of The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. Austin Mayor Steve Adler, head of the Mayor’s Health & Fitness Council (MHFC), will introduce Dr. DePinho. Evan Smith, editor-in-chief and CEO of Texas Tribune, will moderate the symposium “Creating a Culture of Health in Texas” on Tuesday the 16th. The Summit features an impressive lineup of scholars and leaders in health and wellness from organizations ranging from Texas Children’s Hospital and the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston to the United Way and H-E-B. More than 500 attendees from across the state are expected.
The 2015 summit will cover emerging trends and strategies for improving health in five core tracks: Workplace, Community, School, Policy and Innovation. Select features include:

- Todd Whitthorne of ACAP Health with tools for creating a culture of wellness in the workplace
