SANTA FE SPRINGS, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Applied BioCode announced today that it has signed a License and Supply Agreement for its Barcoded Magnetic Bead (BMB) technology with Molecular Devices, LLC. The license from Applied BioCode will provide Molecular Devices with access to specific Applied BioCode BMB patents for use on Molecular Devices Microplate Reading Devices within the Life Science Research, Food and Beverage, and Environmental testing markets.
The BMBs' barcode patterns (4,096 available barcodes) produce a high-contrast signal, allowing the barcode to be easily and accurately identified. Furthermore, because the fluorescence is detected at a steady state in the microplate, no flow cytometer is needed. “We are very pleased to partner with Molecular Devices in these important areas of the life science research markets,” said Winston Ho, President of Applied BioCode. “Our Barcoded Magnetic Bead technology combined with Molecular Devices Microplate Reading Devices will expand its capabilities from single to multiple analyte tests and create a formidable force for multiplexed testing within these markets.”
Terms of the Supply and License Agreement were not immediately available.
