LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Victorious, the mobile platform that powers superfan apps for the world’s biggest creators, today unveiled the first in a series of apps with Ryan Higa and The Young Turks. Each app is owned and operated by the creator, enabling them to connect directly with their most passionate superfans, debut new interactive content programming, unlock new revenue opportunities and better control their digital businesses.
“Superfans drive the majority of engagement in the digital video ecosystem, but are underserved by existing platforms,” said Sam Rogoway, CEO and Co-Founder of Victorious. “Along with our creative partners, we recognize that superfans are much more than passive consumers of content--they, too, are creators who demand more lean-forward opportunities to express themselves and connect with like-minded enthusiasts. We are helping creators transcend the lean-back nature of their video channels by wrapping community around their content.”
Over the next few months, Victorious will unveil new superfan apps for the world’s leading creators and their communities across every major content category, representing a combined premium network that reaches more than a quarter of a billion fans and generates more than 40 billion views. Victorious’ mega-star lineup includes filmmaking pioneer Freddie Wong, lifestyle mogul Michelle Phan, Vine heavyweight DeStorm Power, global fandom and gamer M2M Machinima, teen and young millennial powerhouse AwesomenessTV, transmedia titan Jukin Media, as well as global superstars like Lilly Singh, Boyce Avenue, Jenna Marbles, Joey Graceffa, Lia Marie Johnson, Meghan Rienks, Geek & Sundry, GloZell, Kurt Hugo Schneider, Strawburry17, GLAMSS, DigiTour Media, EleventhGorgeous, Peter Hollens and Cartoon Hangover. Additional creators and media partnerships will be announced this summer, including major film franchise and TV partners.
“Creators have become multi-platform, multi-industry empires,” continued Bing Chen, Co-Founder and Chief Creative Officer of Victorious. “In today’s media landscape, creators crave direct, 1°-away connections with their audiences. Instead of relying on someone else’s platform or algorithm, Victorious accelerates creator businesses by placing full brand, content, audience and revenue control back into the creators’ hands.”
All Victorious-powered apps will feature exclusive content, unprecedented access to creators, interactive community building features and more. Ryan Higa will release never-before-seen footage and mashups; debut a new exclusive game; host new interactive shows; engage in live chats and enable fans to share their own comedic content with Higa’s community.
"I'm super excited to finally have my own app where I can build a personal relationship with my lamps (my fans)!” said Ryan Higa. “I've always wanted to connect with my viewers more personally but there's only so much you can do through commenting and tweets. Victorious has provided a place that finally enables me not only to connect directly with my lamps, but for my lamps to connect with other lamps through positivity and laughter."
The Young Turks will leverage the Victorious platform to empower fans to interact with, influence and enhance their current show offerings. Their app will offer behind-the-scenes content; an ability to interact with and inform their shows each week through polls; opportunities for fans to become the next Young Turk, and political contests and giveaways.
"The Young Turks community are the core of who we are. Those viewers are migrating to mobile, so it's imperative that we provide a top-tier mobile solution to meet their needs,” said Cenk Uygur, TYT Network CEO and Co-Founder and Host of The Young Turks. “The new TYT mobile app powered by Victorious provides our fans with a deeper level of engagement beyond just video consumption, where they can now interact in meaningful ways with us AND with each other. We are thrilled to work with Victorious to bring such a robust product to our audience."
