MIAMI & SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Farelogix and Switchfly today announced a technology collaboration to deliver a series of website and mobile solutions for airline-controlled merchandising and personalization. The collaboration brings together Switchfly’s leading SaaS platform and website development expertise – including an unmatched supplier network, consumer loyalty capability, premium content sources and data-driven optimization – with Farelogix’ award-winning airline Merchandising (FLX-Merchandise) and Gateway (NDC-Xpress) technologies. Designed for mid-tier airlines seeking to rapidly enhance their merchandising and retailing strategies, the combined Switchfly-Farelogix solutions will support a range of approaches for e-commerce integration, ranging from simple “add-ons” for post-booking ancillaries to full end-to-end personalized shopping and booking. The solution will use a standardized NDC XML API.
“The power of personalization is driving the need for faster and more flexible approaches to e-commerce and user experience across channels,” said Jim Davidson, CEO of Farelogix. “While Farelogix is leading the way with our merchandising, pricing, and NDC connectivity/API solutions, there is still a significant need for highly flexible web and mobile user interfaces that can support rapid new product introduction or changes to an existing ancillary offering. We are delighted to be working with Switchfly to deliver these essential requirements as an integrated offering.”
“Airlines who want to increase revenue in a profitable manner find in Switchfly a shorter payback period for creating new revenue streams and commerce sites, and expanding existing initiatives,” said Daniel Farrar, CEO of Switchfly. “They can reduce time to market with virtually no IT resources while decreasing risk. Switchfly is truly unique since we provide world-class uptime, scalability, security, and performance, as well as actionable insights on a single SaaS platform to deliver a targeted, mobile-friendly customer experience. We look forward to sharing our expertise in ancillary experiences and expanding our platform availability to mid-tier airlines.”
Airline control, flexibility, and speed-to-market are fundamental to each component of the combined Farelogix-Switchfly solution. “If the airline conceives of a new bundle or package today, it should be available as a live offer tomorrow – without hard coding or lengthy delays by the airline website provider,” adds Davidson. “This is the gap we are closing by collaborating with Switchfly and by extending the flexibility and power of merchandising and NDC technologies to the website/booking engine user interface.”
“Airlines need to ensure seamless day-to-day technology operations globally with an exceptional user experience via any device and channel in any currency, language and payment method. The Switchfly-Farelogix partnership opens the door to a new world of operational excellence, user experience and customer satisfaction,” adds Farrar. “Farelogix enhances and augments our air capability with merchandising and NDC expertise.”
The relationship between Farelogix and Switchfly is designed to deliver a turnkey sales and implementation package for airlines.
