In this keynote presentation, “Don’t Freeze Out the Boomers!,” IRI’s Larry Levin and Sandy Krueger will explore the ways in which baby boomers continue to impact today’s shopping environment. Their talk will underscore the vital role this group plays in both the refrigerated and frozen sections of the store, as well as boomers’ collective passions for different retailer outlets to maximize opportunities for both constituencies.



Accounting for almost 40 percent of total dollars spent in the entire CPG market, baby boomers remain a vitally important target for CPG companies.
Understanding the needs and wants of this important segment is critical for manufacturers and retailers as they strive to win among this key group. To further enhance strategies, IRI segments baby boomers to examine the impact of millennials who are still living with their boomer parents versus boomers who are “empty nesters” to understand similar and different interactions with the dairy and frozen aisles.
