CHESHIRE, Conn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Fiber Mountain, Inc., a provider of transformative, software-defined networking solutions for enterprise and hyperscale data centers, today announced the selection of its Glass Core™ as a finalist for Interop Las Vegas’ 2015 Best of Interop Awards in the data center category. Finalists have been selected by a panel of highly distinguished IT journalists and analysts; award winners will be announced from Interop Las Vegas 2015.
“We strongly believe that spine-and-leaf network architectures are limited and will not be able to keep up with expansion in data centers,” said Fiber Mountain CEO, M.H. Raza. “Our Glass Core architecture eliminates or reduces switches to simplify the network, increases capacity and significantly reduces latency, power consumption, heat dissipation, space and maintenance costs. We are delighted with the recognition provided by Interop judges in selecting us as a finalist for a Best of Interop award.”
Fiber Mountain’s Glass Core™ is based on an optical network that can connect any port from a server or storage rack to any other port directly across the Glass Core, with the industry’s lowest latency. Glass Core infrastructure is comprised of fiber optic connections using high fiber count connectors and the AP-4240 Optical Path Exchange™ (OPX™). Fiber Mountain’s Alpine Orchestration System™ (AOS™) configures connectivity in the Glass Core using Programmable Light Paths™ (PLP™), which are software controlled port-to-port direct connections.
“We extend a big congratulations to Fiber Mountain and all Best of Interop finalists on the success of their new products and positive impact on business efficiency,” said Interop General Manager Jennifer Jessup. “These are the types of advancements that define the future of IT, and we’re excited for Interop attendees to be able to experience them firsthand in the Expo.”
After a thorough review of all finalists, an expert judging panel will announce the winners on Tuesday, April 28 at 5:30 pm in the Interop Theater on the Expo Floor of the Mandalay Bay Convention Center. Fiber Mountain will be showcasing its technology including the Glass Core at Booth #2067 during Interop Las Vegas.
