IRVINE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Teradek, a Vitec Group brand and premier provider of H.264 encoders and wireless video devices, has announced a new feature dubbed 3DC² that will allow real time color correction or artistic color interpretation using 3D Look Up Tables (LUT) on all 2nd generation Bolt systems.
Available as a free firmware upgrade, the new 3DC² feature allows users to export any standard or custom LUT file types (dat, cube, 3dl, lut, m3d, mga) into Bolt systems for real time color correction. The color corrected output is supported on all of the Bolt’s video outputs: HDMI, HD-SDI, as well as uncompressed USB 3.0.
Bolt receivers support modifying LUTs in real time over USB using the Bolt Manager Utility application, as well as saving up to 16 separate LUTs to the internal memory. Each LUT can be reloaded at any time using the receiver’s built in joystick and OLED screen.
For multicast systems, all receivers can be set to output the same LUT or different LUTs can be used to compensate for different monitors being used on set or for the different workflows required by the Director and the DIT.

It’s no longer only used to properly display RAW and log footage, but to calibrate disparate monitors and cameras, and even to add a new level of artistic interpretation,” said Nicol Verheem, General Manager of Creative Solutions, Vitec Videocom. “Integrating the 3D color correction into the Bolt receivers that are already the de facto standard on set is a huge win for our customers.”
The software update is available in beta now and will be released by the end of April 2015.
