REDWOOD CITY, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Highfive, the all-in-one video conferencing system that’s changing the way people work, today announced that it has won the prestigious Red Dot Award for product design.
The Red Dot Awards are recognized across the globe as the quality standard for excellent design. This year, a record 4,928 entries from 56 countries were assessed by an international expert jury, but only those designs showcasing exceptional quality and deep innovation received an award. Highfive partnered with Silicon Valley-based industrial design and engineering firm, Whipsaw, Inc on product design.
“When we set out to design Highfive, we wanted it to pack more power than any video conferencing solution on the market, while shedding the clunky design that enterprise video has traditionally suffered from,” said Shan Sinha, co-founder and CEO of Highfive. “Today’s workplace is changing and employees expect the same great design that they experience in their daily lives. We’re honored to receive a Red Dot Product Design Award -- it’s recognition that well-designed, easy-to-use products are no longer reserved for consumer products and applications.”
“With Highfive, a lot of our design was driven by the company’s vision of integrating super high-end functionality into a simple, sleek device, while also making it affordable,” said Dan Harden, president/CEO and principal designer of Whipsaw. “We’re really proud that we were able to achieve this. Highfive is a perfect example of how great design can have a huge impact on the way we work.”
The award comes on the heels of Highfive’s announcement of a $32M Series B round. Highfive is being used by more than 500 of the most innovative companies (including Zenefits, Mimeo and Warby Parker) who chose Highfive based on its design and user experience. Many of these companies have gone wall-to-wall by adopting Highfive in every meeting room, a testament to its ease of use and impact on their organizations.
