NEENAH, Wis.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Bemis Company, Inc. (NYSE:BMS) has been recognized with two Flexible Packaging Association Achievement Awards for its new McCormick Skillet Sauce pouch. This new package earned a gold award in the Packaging Excellence category and a silver award in the Sustainability category.
“We are honored to receive these Packaging Achievement Awards and be recognized, along with our customer, for this innovative new packaging concept,” said William Jackson, Vice President and Chief Technology Officer of Bemis Company. “The skillet sauce pouch is an excellent example of how collaborative customer relationships and our technological expertise can be leveraged to help our customers grow.”
The McCormick Skillet Sauce pouch is a new line of fresh tasting sauces that helps consumers prepare quick and healthy meals. The easy-open “cap” of this flexible pouch allows consumers to simply tear open and pour the sauce, providing a convenient and clean meal-preparation experience. The innovative flexible packaging design provides a unique alternative to a glass bottle. A published FPA case study specifies that, on average, flexible pouches can result in a 50% reduction in landfill waste when compared to glass or plastic bottles with caps.
The Flexible Packaging Association has conducted the Flexible Packaging Achievement Awards competition since 1956 to showcase innovation and advance the use of flexible packaging. One of the industry’s most respected recognitions, the Flexible Packaging Achievement Awards competition focuses on packaging excellence, technical innovation, printing and shelf impact, and sustainability.
