CHICAGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--BidClerk data for 2014 showed an increase in private sector projects and a decrease in public sector projects, and a 76% overall increase in total project value.
Texas major metro markets saw more than 7,400 new construction projects released for bid in 2014, with a total contract value of more than $35 billion, BidClerk data showed. This compares to more than $20 billion in total contract value reported in 2013.
Nationally, BidClerk reported on 162,000 commercial construction projects valued at $455 billion in 2014. BidClerk saw an increase in the total contract values of more than $175 billion compared to 2013. These figures include both public and private work and represent the aggregate value of actively bidding commercial construction contract opportunities available in BidClerk's database.
For the Houston MSA region, BidClerk data shows there were more than 2,400 new construction projects released for bid, with a combined contract value of $5.6 billion.
One noteworthy project was the St. John's School Campus Center, currently being built to the tune of $40 million. The general contractor on the project is WS Bellows Construction Corp. and the project was designed by Kendall / Heaton Associates.
For the Dallas MSA region, BidClerk’s data shows there were more than 2,700 new construction projects released for bid, with a combined contract value of $7.3 billion.
