JACKSONVILLE, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Florida Capital Bank has established a new company to advise owners of privately held companies. The new company, Florida Capital Advisors, works with these owners on value enhancement and ownership transition strategies throughout the state of Florida. A long-time Florida Capital Bank executive, Chuck Owston, has been appointed as managing director for the new enterprise. Mr. Owston has more than 30 years of experience advising owners of privately held companies on optimal capital structures, enhancing enterprise value, owner exit options and managing wealth. He is a Certified Exit Planning Advisor (CEPA).
“Many entrepreneurs have a significant portion of their personal net worth tied to the value of their business,” said Owston. “In the next five years, we expect to see more than half of privately-held companies’ transition ownership. Florida Capital Advisors can help guide owners through key decisions as they prepare for an eventual exit in the future.”
“We believe there is a significant market for this type of advice, and that Chuck is highly qualified to lead us with the launch of this new company,” added Florida Capital Bank CEO Malcolm Jones. “With Chuck’s leadership, Florida Capital Advisors can assist owners with the critical thought processes to achieve their desired goals.”
Owston has had an extensive career in the financial services industry. He has served as the president of Florida Capital Bank’s bank division since 2011, having joined the company as key executive earlier to develop the central Florida market. Prior to Florida Capital Bank, he served as senior vice president of Wachovia, a Wells Fargo company for 21 years.
Owston received his bachelor of science-finance degree from the University of Florida/University of Central Florida and his designation as a Certified Exit Planning Advisor (CEPA) from the Exit Planning Institute.
