Prior to that, he was a Senior Vice President at Plainfield Asset Management, a $5+ billion hedge fund, where he invested across the entire capital structure in numerous industries. Earlier in his career, he spent five years working in the Consumer and Retail investment-banking group at Credit Suisse (in Analyst and Associate capacities). Mr. Danaher graduated with a BBA from Loyola College. He’s a first-degree black belt and former MMA instructor.
Prior to joining Ploom, Mr. Dunlap, 45, was the Managing Director at Tenth Dimension Design Labs, a digital marketing agency and data science lab focused on mobile and e-commerce growth for luxury brands. He is also an active Silicon Valley investor and advisor, having most recently been involved with Eaze, an on-demand delivery service that allows qualified patients to select and order medical marijuana from a mobile device; Apptimize, Inc., a next generation tool for mobile app developers for real-time feature testing; MTailor/Bit Body, Inc., a mobile app that scans the user’s body in minutes, then creates custom clothing to fit; and Refresh, Inc., a mobile social application used for recruiting and sales that creates 30-second briefings detailing the interests of people a user is scheduled to meet. Mr. Dunlap graduated with a BS from the University of Oregon and an MBA from Stanford University Graduate School of Business. He is a national level trail runner, currently the USA Track & Field Masters champion for the 50-Mile Road and 50-Mile Trail distances, and an age group champion at the 100-Mile Trail distance.
“I couldn’t be more excited to join the team at Ploom. The people are incredibly passionate and committed, and their premium products across the vaporization category have a dedicated and growing consumer base. I look forward to helping to grow this business,” Mr. Danaher said.
“Vaporization is a highly disruptive technology, and Ploom has done a tremendous job building a loyal following with their best-in-class offerings,” said Mr. Dunlap. “I am excited to help them take this to the next level and build out a global presence.”
Founded in 2007 by two Stanford Design Program Masters program graduates, Ploom produces first-in-category premium vaporizers. Through the process of vaporization, loose leaf is heated, not burned, producing a subtle vapor instead of smoke. Ploom is a privately held company headquartered in San Francisco, California.
