CHICAGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Xamin, Inc. announced today that Aaron Scicluna, EVP, has been named chief business development officer, where he will oversee new business channels and manage collaboration between engineering, research and data to strengthen the delivery of the company’s services to its diverse client base. Scicluna brings nearly a decade of industry experience in managing advanced technology and IT systems, as well as strategic business development and integrations to his new position.
”Aaron’s leadership will play a key role in Xamin’s strategic growth in 2015 and beyond,” said Erik Gustafson, president and CTO of Xamin. “Equipped with proven industry experience and a comprehensive understanding of our business, Aaron ensures that our capabilities will continue to outpace the industry’s security needs as they evolve.”
Scicluna points to a heightened level of awareness regarding cybersecurity as a key driver of industry adoption of Xamin’s solutions, citing a December 2014 Web conference hosted by The International Data Corporation (IDC) that projected current and long-term IT security trends, including:
- Risk data aggregation, analytics and reporting will consume 75 percent of the chief risk officer’s agenda in 2015;
- Global financial institutions will spend $2.8 billion on software and services related to fraud and financial crimes analytics;
- Thirty percent of top compliance functions will introduce technological means, business processes and metrics to manage and minimize conduct failures; and
- Institutions will increase investments in risk culture through enterprise education by more than 15 percent.
“Fraud has always continued to evolve, but we are witnessing an accelerated rate of change that demands organizations adopt enhanced levels of cybersecurity,” said Scicluna. ”Xamin is committed to proactively working with our clients to simultaneously safeguard their critical data and support their compliance with the latest guidelines, and I am excited to lead our efforts in identifying opportunities to maximize the impact of our solutions within the marketplace.”
