WASHINGTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Treliant Risk Advisors has named Steve Rudner and Mark Westmoreland as Principals of the firm, which affirms their leadership roles in serving Treliant’s key banking and financial services clients. Steve is head of Treliant’s New York office, leading major projects involving substantive mortgage litigation and claim response strategy. Mark advises global banking clients served by the firm’s compliance and fair lending practice on navigating complex consumer risk management issues.
“The areas of large bank compliance and pending or actual litigation are significant pressure points in the financial services industry today,” said Treliant CEO Andrew L. Sandler. “Steve and Mark have helped our clients enormously in these difficult areas and are now positioned to do even more for our clients and the firm.”
Steve Rudner joined Treliant in 2012, bringing decades of experience in the financial services industry. His career has included roles as Managing Director and Co-Head of Morgan Stanley’s U.S. residential mortgage business and as Vice President in Bear Stearns’ mortgage-backed securities department. At Treliant, Steve provides litigation support to originators, issuers, and underwriters of residential mortgage-backed securities. He also engages in quantifying clients’ exposure to mortgage-related litigation and enforcement; leading file reviews related to loan origination and servicing; advising on mortgage servicing and credit insurance claims processing; and addressing quality assurance in mortgage origination and servicing.
Mark Westmoreland, who joined Treliant in 2010, is a seasoned veteran experienced in delivering practical solutions to meet financial services regulation requirements. At Treliant, Mark has advised large, complex financial institutions on rules pertaining to the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) and other consumer compliance requirements of the prudential regulators. Mark’s expertise in matters pertaining to Unfair, Deceptive, or Abusive Acts or Practices (UDAAP), compliance program development, and product-specific compliance considerations has been instrumental for the clients he serves.
“With Steve and Mark positioned as senior leaders on our team, Treliant is delivering strategic business-oriented solutions to the most challenging risk management issues faced by our large, global bank clients,” said Treliant Chief Business Officer Susanna K.
