SEATTLE--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Attorney Advertising. Keller Rohrback L.L.P. is currently investigating recent reports that Anthem Inc. (the “Company”) (NYSE:ANTM), the nation’s second-largest health insurer, endured a hack that exposed the birthdates, social security numbers, income data, and other personal information of approximately 80 million customers and employees. It may be one of the largest data breaches ever at a major insurance company, as the company and its affiliates cover one in nine Americans.
The Company said all of its product lines, including private individual insurance, group health insurance, Medicare, and Medicaid, were affected. Life insurance as well as dental and vision coverage information were also compromised. The Company, formerly known as WellPoint, operates plans including Anthem Blue Cross, Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield Amerigroup and Healthlink. WellPoint, covering more than 37 million people, runs Blue Cross Blue Shield plans in more than a dozen states, including California, New York and Ohio.
