JOHNS CREEK, Ga.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Mertz Taggart, a merger & acquisition firm that focuses exclusively in healthcare services, has announced that Mike Weldon has joined the firm as a Managing Director.
Previously, Mr. Weldon was with Lord Abbett, a Jersey City, NJ based asset management firm with over $140 billion in assets under management (as of 12/31/2014) where he rose to the position of Partner and Director of Marketing over a successful 17 year career.
As Director of Marketing, Mike was responsible for coordinating Lord Abbett’s marketing initiatives across its national sales force and helping to craft the company’s message. Never satisfied with the status quo, Mike increased the company’s visibility and penetration through programs he initiated including webinars, videos, and enhanced in-person events. During Mike’s time in marketing, he was a key contributor as the firm grew from less than 20,000 mutual fund sellers to over 60,000, and from less than $5 billion in gross mutual fund sales to over $30 billion.

Mr. Weldon received his BS in Finance from the University of North Florida and his MBA from the University of Georgia.
