NORWALK, Conn.--()--HomeServe USA (HomeServe), a leading provider of home emergency repair service plans, today announced the launch of Havoc, a first-of-its-kind digitally-based program for homeowners to share their home emergency stories and have the opportunity to win prizes. Accessible via web and mobile app, Havoc provides a fun forum for homeowners to share their stories and find some levity by “laughing at life’s little disasters.”

Homeowners are encouraged to upload photos and videos of their home disasters, along with their stories of personal havoc. As part of the Havoc launch the first 50 people to get their photo or video on the website will win a $25 Amazon Gift Card. Registered users can interact by rating their favorite photos, videos and stories, and will be automatically entered for a chance to win a $200 Amazon Gift Card from Havoc’s monthly drawing. The first winner of the monthly $200 Amazon Gift Card for voting on her favorite personal havoc story, Pamela Fenton, said, “I just want to say thank you so very much! This is a great thing for me since I am only a one-year home owner. Again, thank you!”

Home disasters – encompassing everything from leaking pipes to sewer backups to electrical shorts to broken water heaters and more – can happen at any time to anyone, often without warning. By the end of 2014, over one million homeowners will have experienced a water service line emergency, according to HomeServe estimates. Not only do these home disasters pose an inconvenience, they can cost homeowners hundreds or even thousands of dollars.

“We created Havoc to remind homeowners about the prevalence of common home emergencies and bring a little humor to what can be a tough situation,” said Tom Rusin, CEO of HomeServe USA. “We also want to give homeowners a place to turn to where they can benefit from each other’s experiences and learn about how they can protect themselves.”

As part of the Havoc launch, participants are eligible for prizes starting this month. Visit www.HomeHavoc.com to share your story or to view additional program details about how you can make havoc pay. The mobile Havoc app is available at the iTunes and Google Play app stores.
