LEXINGTON, Ky.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Fazoli’s franchisees shattered more than two-dozen weekly sales records during the last three months of 2014. The premium Italian quick-service chain has been on a sales rampage, with positive franchise comp sales 54 of the last 57 months, including the last 21.
During the fourth quarter, 27 new weekly franchise sales records were set, with 25% of franchisees reporting new records. For December, franchisees were up 12.2% year-over-year with a solid 10.1% traffic increase. Company-owned units were up 8.4% over 2013 on positive 6.5% traffic.
“Fazoli’s and its franchise partners are in a great place to earn additional share with the recent strengthening of the economy,” said president and CEO Carl Howard. “Consumers are conditioned to looking for the best value when they dine out, and Fazoli’s offers that better than any other Italian chain, regardless of price.”
Franchise Business Review recently named Fazoli’s #16 on its list of Top 20 most satisfied franchisees in the country. The brand also is ranked #2 overall among large national fast-food chains in the prestigious Zagat Survey, while Howard is the #1 restaurant executive on the current FastCasual.com Top 100 Movers & Shakers list.
Fazoli’s is once again expanding with one new company and five new franchise units opened in 2014. The brand has commitments for seven new franchise restaurants, including several in travel centers, and is expected to announce several new franchise groups will join the system in early 2015.
An American family favorite for more than 25 years, Fazoli’s features a premium menu of freshly prepared Italian entrees, Submarinos® sandwiches and salads, a new service style featuring table service and a contemporary new restaurant design. Already America’s largest Italian quick-service chain with approximately 220 company and franchised restaurants, Fazoli’s is expanding throughout the country. Founded in Lexington, Ky., in 1988, Fazoli’s was acquired by Sun Capital Partners in 2006.
