NEW YORK & HERZLIYA, Israel--(BUSINESS WIRE)--CA Technologies (NASDAQ:CA) announced that Ex Libris Group, a leading provider of cloud-based SaaS solutions for library automation serving academic, research and national libraries, is using CA API Management to manage and securely expose APIs in its recently launched Developer Network to foster collaboration and innovation for developing enterprise applications. The implementation was completed by the CA Israel partner EMET Computing.
With more than 5,500 customers worldwide, Ex Libris software solutions enable institutions to manage print, digital and online library materials and processes, and enable users to discover and obtain information quickly and easily, anytime and anywhere.
Demonstrating its commitment to openness, Ex Libris recently launched the Developer Network, an advanced platform accessible to customers and to the developer community, with the objective of collaborating, sharing, and developing new applications, integrations and extensions to Ex Libris solutions. To securely expose its enterprise application APIs and facilitate access to developers, Ex Libris selected CA API Gateway and CA API Developer Portal.
“CA API Management technology has expanded the potential for collaboration and experimentation among our customer community,” commented Shlomo Sanders, chief technology officer at Ex Libris. “As a provider of cloud-based solutions, it’s critical for our customers to easily build, manage, and securely share multiple applications and services in the Ex Libris Developer Network. Now, they will be able to extend library services through tight integration with mobile applications, learning management systems, student portals, institutional repositories, and other vendor systems.”
"Designed and built in a short timeframe, the Ex Libris developer network enables the Ex Libris community of developers to find, explore and make controllable, manageable and secure use of Ex Libris APIs, as well as collaborate via discussion boards and blogs,” he added.
“Keeping our focus on the target with methodological project management, together we delivered this project successfully and on time," said Eli Kaplan, Middleware Group Manager at EMET Computing.
“APIs are a cornerstone for innovation and growth in the application economy and we're working with companies across the world to realize these objectives,” said Rahim Bhatia, senior vice president, API Management, CA Technologies. “Ex Libris is taking the lead on driving that innovation by securely opening access to its technology through APIs to help simplify and accelerate how developers build new applications and services.”
