DALLAS & FORT WORTH, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Mouser Electronics, Inc., the global authorized distributor with the newest semiconductors and electronic components, welcomed celebrity engineer Grant Imahara, best known for his role on TV’s Mythbusters, to its annual Employee Holiday Party at Mouser’s corporate campus.
Imahara joined in the festivities and met with many employees as part of our kick-off to the Empowering Innovation Together campaign. During the festivities, Imahara took time to give personal autographs, take photos and visit Mouser’s vast warehouse and distribution center.
“I'm no stranger to Mouser. I've been a customer for over 20 years,” Imahara stated. “They've always been friendly and professional and I'm thrilled to now be a part of the Mouser team. After ordering parts from Mouser for so many years, I finally had an opportunity to see the warehouse. It's impressive and absolutely massive. Parts move swiftly and efficiently, and accuracy is very important. Everyone here is truly committed to the customer experience. They constantly ask themselves how they can make this experience better. I'm proud to be a partner with Mouser and can't wait to show everyone all the cool stuff we're planning.”
“It was exciting for our employees to meet Grant in person. His visit made it a memorable holiday event,” said Glenn Smith, Mouser Electronics’ President and CEO. “The Empowering Innovation collaboration emphasizes Mouser’s commitment to the engineering community in bringing them the newest products and information to inspire new designs. We provide the newest products and technologies, and Grant provides the inspiration and engineering expertise. We look forward to an exciting 2015.”
Together Mouser and Imahara are inviting the engineering community on a journey to Empower Innovation. Mouser is creating a series of “webisode” videos with Imahara as the host, featuring unique content highlighting innovative, creative engineers worldwide. There will be features on the newest products and technical expertise to help speed new designs. The partnership will provide both inspiration and guidance, plus contribute to the culture of inventive thinking. It’s another way Mouser is personally connecting itself to engineers through innovation and creativity that defines engineering design.
Well known in the engineering community, Imahara has paired his engineering expertise with a Hollywood TV and film career. In addition to his roles on Mythbusters and Battlebots, Imahara is the inventor behind many famous robotic characters – including the Star Wars prequel-era R2-D2, The Late Late Show’s Craig Ferguson sidekick – Geoff Peterson, the talking robot, and the rhythmic arms on the modern day Energizer Bunny. He joins the Mouser team as a collaborator and spokesperson who shares Mouser’s passion to positively influence and support innovative design.
