TORONTO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--National Post is pleased to announce the appointment of Andrew Coyne to the role of Editor, Editorials and Comment.
Mr. Coyne worked for National Post during its launch 1998 until 2007. He returned to the Post in 2011 and is currently a national columnist whose work is carried across all Postmedia platforms. He is a frequent commenter on TV and radio, an in-demand public speaker and a fellow of the School of Public Policy and Governance at the University of Toronto.
“We set out looking for a brilliant thinker, talker and writer who can expand our role in the national conversation,” said Anne Marie Owens, Editor, National Post. “We wanted someone who possessed the wit, scathing insights and intelligence that are the hallmarks of our commentary coverage. We got it all, and more, in Andrew.”
Mr. Coyne is a graduate of the University of Toronto (B.A. Economics & History) and the London School of Economics (M.Sc. Economics). In addition to the Post and Postmedia, he has also been a columnist for Maclean’s and The Globe and Mail.
“Andrew will bring his enthusiasm for intelligent argument and debate to directing our Comment pages, Full Comment and the editorial board,” said Ms. Owens. “He will also bring his reputation, his intellectual rigour and his great range of interests.”
Mr. Coyne begins his new role on January 5, 2015, and will continue to write his thrice-weekly column for the Postmedia chain.
